What’s New at the Food Shelf?

We now have a weather proof storage bin for clothing donations. Located just outside the back door of the church just drop clothing in the bin or leave on top if too full. Please have all clothes in a clean plastic bag.

Then Jesus declared –

“I am the bread of Life. He who comes to me willnever go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. All that the Father gives to me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.” John 6:32b-37

Then the King will say to them on His right –

“Come, you who are blessed by my Father, take your inheritance, the Kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me…I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for Me. Matthew 25:34-36, 40

The Vision...

To meet the needs of this community by providing food, clothing and the Word of God to those in need.

The Goal…

The goal of this ministry is to express the love and compassion of Christ in action in order that we might open a door for spreading the Gospel. This is in keeping with our mission to be “Christ-Centered and Community Concerned”. It is taking the vital next step by caring for our community in caring, practical, public and consistent ways.

The Bread of Life Food Shelf is open the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, from 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM. There will be free bags of non-perishable food items; and, miscellaneous items such as shampoo, face soap and paper products. (Miscellaneous items will be available as donations provide.)

Donations of food are accepted and may be dropped off in our donation bins on Sunday morning, on Food Shelf days in our Fellowship Hall or in the weather proof storage bin for clothing donations, located just outside the back door of the church. If you would like to make a monetary gift, please make checks payable to South Umpqua Community Church with the words “Food Shelf” written in the memo line. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 205, Tiller, OR 97484. All monetary gifts will go directly to purchasing food items.
